Political Enron - Ask Why, Asshole

Enron Ask Why T-Shirt: This statement comes from the film 'Enron - The Smartest Guys In The Room', an excellent documentary on the Enron scandal. The history behind this design is that it's based on the company's 'Ask Why' TV adverts, the 'Asshole' at the end was added after former CEO Jeff Skilling verbally attacked Wall Street analyst Richard Grubman. He complained that Enron was the only company that could not release a balance sheet along with its earnings statements, Skilling replied 'Well, thank you very much, we appreciate that . . . asshole.' The statement 'Ask why...asshole', quickly became an inside joke among many Enron employees. Taking stock of exactly how much money was lost and stolen during the scandal this statement now takes on a whole new meaning.
